Northeast corner of Eldamain Road and Faxon Road, Bristol Township — Yorkville, IL (Kendall County)
Summary
CyrusOne, a Dallas-based data center developer, received unanimous approval from the Yorkville City Council on July 9, 2024 — becoming the first data center project approved in Yorkville's Eldamain Corridor. The campus spans 228 acres at the northeast corner of Eldamain Road and Faxon Road.
Originally planned as nine two-story buildings totaling 2.4 million square feet, the project was revised in early 2026 to eight buildings (2.1 million sq ft) with a substantially smaller electrical substation; further amendments to reduce all buildings from two-story to one-story are anticipated.

Plan amendment presented at City Council: reduced to 8 buildings, substation halved
United City of Yorkville City Council
Developer representative Russ Whitaker presented revised plans on behalf of CyrusOne, reducing the campus from 9 to 8 buildings (2.4M to 2.1M sq ft) and halving the substation from its original 800,000 sq ft footprint. Whitaker said construction would begin Q1 2026, transformer delivery and installation would occur later in 2026, and power delivery is expected in 2027. Further amendments to convert all eight remaining buildings from two-story to one-story are anticipated; Whitaker stated this height reduction 'should not change the amount of power used for the overall project.'
